Why aren't more doctors trained to help autistic people?

My son has a new doctor who seems nice and has a good staff so far. When my son aged out of his pediatrician he recomended my former neighbor who is a doctor. Ann was OK but new nothing about autism and thought she did. That can be exsperating. She new him as a baby before she moved. He speaks since three and she assumed he could not. That is ignorance. She moved out of state.
